I often have to use the mobile edition to log on to sites from my Droid. In the previous version, the generated password was in a text field which I could copy to the clipboard.
Now it's in web page text which I can no longer copy and paste. It's a painful process to either write down the generated password or painstakingly switch back and forth between windows trying to remember it. Any help for this problem? Mojo -- Morris Jones, Monrovia, CA |

I previously placed the generated password in a readonly input field, e.g.:
<input type="text" readonly="readonly"> This prevented a user from accidentally editing their generated password. However, it caused problems on iDevices, so I changed it to the text field you see now. If this, too, causes problems, I will change it back to an input field, sans the "readonly" attribute. I was unaware that Android had this limitation. So Android only allows you to copy and paste text that appears in input fields? |

On Android you can copy/paste any text on the page, it's just awkward and involves carefully selecting text with your finger or d-pad/scroll wheel. It's much easier to long-press on an input field and press "copy all".
To make things easier (and to plug my project), there's an Android implementation of SuperGenPass that integrates much better into the browser experience. You can find out more here: http://staticfree.info/projects/sgp/ (p.s. Chris: can you please post a link somewhere to the various platform-specific versions? It'd be nice to have it all in one place!) |

That's just the thing! Nica as an app. Thanks xxv! Mojo

Selecting a text field caused no problem whatsoever on iDevices. I have been using the old mobile version (I still do, stored the Data URI as a bookmark and made a web clip; new users cannot anymore since Data URI is gone too — 2x fail) and you simply have to tap and hold outside of the text field, and then slide your finger in to select it's contents.
Mobile version used to be controllable with a keyboard + tab only, and the password selectable with cmd + a (Select All on a Mac), no need at all for a mouse. That is no longer the case. 3x fail. The new mobile edition, then, took away several features and brought none besides the new design. Please make the previous version available. |

To be a bit more specific: one cannot tab all the way down to the password field in order to select it only using the keyboard. Return key does not submit the form either. |

I dont use the Mobile version much but when I do I use it on WebOS which works just great regardless of a text field or html text so how about making the mobile version use a text field so it makes it easier for most and since the iPhone is annoying in MANY ways just make another version for them that uses html text.
WebOS has the absolute best implementation of copy & paste of any smartphone...actually has shortcut keys like Ctrl+C and Ctrl+V (different buttons but same function) so either option for SGP is just fine. Visuex Technologies - http://visuex.com

I have iTunes sync my bookmarks for me, such that I get a SGP bookmark on my iPad and iPhone.
The SGP bookmark then works for my mobile devices just as it does on my computer... Fill in the SGP password; hit the bookmarks icon; scroll to my SGP bookmark and select (SGP does its magic); and the hashed password is there just as I'd hoped. |

Lost without it ;) Long-press on the password text entry area and then select paste from the menu that pops up! P.S. if you didn't see, I put together a mobile app that makes using SGP just the slightest bit easier: you can long-press on the URL in the browser and "share" it with the app so you don't need to type in the domain. -- Steve Pomeroy http://staticfree.info/ |

Hey i have a samsung galaxy s modified to gingerbread version. I have installed an app which i don't remember the password now, but fortunately i had it on remember me. So every time i open it, the password appears in its dotted character but the app does not offer settings option either to change it. All i can do is highlight the select all. There is no copy option and i need to use it for another app which i had the same password. Is there any possible way to either decrypt it??? Please HELP...
I look at the Supergenpass but i can't understand a single thing what to do. Im a bit dumb on these at the moment and I'm learning slowly. Please help i really need to know my password.. |

SuperGenPass generates passwords. It has nothing to do with recovering lost passwords unless you used it to generate them.
Regarding your question: unfortunately there is no good way to extract the password once it's been remembered. That's generally a good thing, as anyone who happens to have your phone can't get at your passwords (say if it were lost or stolen). |
